Muhammad Tulus Rusydi (popurlarly known by the name Tulus) is an Indonesian jazz singer who was born on August 20, 1987 in Bukittinggi, West Sumatera, Indonesia. He is of Chinese, Minangkabau, and Malay descent. His stage moniker Tulus means “Sincere” in English.
Tulus and his brother Riri Muktamar founded the independent music label Tulus Co. in 2010. His 2011 single Sewindu was a big hit in Indonesia playing all over leading radio stations in the big Indonesian cities. Tulus became even more famous for his debut album Eponymous in 2011. The album quickly rose to the top of the album charts in Rolling Stone Indonesia. His other popular albums include Gajah and Monokrom.
In 2016 Tulus became a coach on The Voice Kids. He was flanked on the judging panel by Glenn Fredly.
