Myriam Hernández, born as Myrian Raquel Hernández Navarro, is a Chilean singer who was born on May 2, 1965, in Ñuñoa, Villa Frei. She began her singing career in the late ’80s, releasing her first album called “Myriam Hernández” in 1988. This album granted her some popularity in her natal country. In 1989 she obtained a quadruple-platinum album and managed to enter the Hot Latin Song list from Billboard with her song “Ay Amor”. After touring around Latin America, she released her second homonymous album in which participated many different artists, including Alberto Plaza and Juan Carlos Duque. She then released some singles like “Herida”, which became N°1 in the Latin Billboard Lists, turning Maryam into the only female artist to achieve this. She then signed with Warner Music and released her third homonymous album in 1992 and her fourth album in 1994. In 2011 she published her single “Sigue sin mi” from her album “Seducción” featuring famous singer Marco Antonio Solis, which was a complete success. For her album, she was nominated for the first time for a Latin Grammy.
