Nemahsis Bio

Nemah Hasan, better known as Nemahsis, is a brand new Palestinian singer-songwriter who was born in Canada and grew up on a farm outside Toronto. On June 23, 2021 she released her debut single called “what if i took it off for you?” on Spotify, along with the official video on her Youtube account “NemahsisVEVO”. This song was originally written by Nemah in 2018 but revisited in 2020 for entire revamp, and in which she decided to tell her story of exploitation at the hands of a major brand who used her “hijabi girl” image without any kind of compensation and despite the fact that Nemahsis denied the permission for it. The artist shared her source of inspiration for the single explaining: “I had reached a breaking point with my hijab, a lot of relationships/opportunities depend on appearances and I felt hijab was my biggest setback (which I wasn't wrong). This world makes you doubt yourself, and if I took it off... the world would just find another thing to make me insecure about''.
