Nicol David Bio

Nicol David is a heavyweight name that sent a cold shiver down the spines of her fellow squash opponents. She was born on the 26th of August, 1983, in Penang, Malaysia.

Her interest in squash started when she was five years old. Nine years later, she represented her country at the world junior squash competition, making it to the quarterfinal.

Two years after, she became the youngest squash champion thrashing all her opponents. Unsurprisingly, she retained her world junior title in 2001, becoming the first female to win the competition twice.

Since then, she has won various titles and became the first squash player to win eight open crown titles.

Nicol is a known record breaker and has been argued to be the greatest woman to have ever played the squash game.

The fierce player has been crowned the women squash association player of the year on seven different occasions. To further extend her dominance, she had a long 13-month winning streak which spanned from March 2006 to April 2007.

Nicol David gracefully brought her career to a fruitful end in June 2019.
