Vasco Rossi (born February 7, 1952) is an Italian singer-songwriter and poet who goes by the mononym Vasco or the moniker Il Blasco.
He has released 30 albums (not including unofficial releases) and written over 250 songs, as well as lyrics for other musicians, during his career.
Rossi refers to himself as a provocautore (an Italian portmanteau for "provoking author") because he has been chastised repeatedly during his career for his living choices and song lyrics. He is one of the best-selling Italian singers, with over 35 million albums sold.
His Modena Park concert in 2017 is the most-attended ticketed event in history.
