Toad the Wet Sprocket Bio

American alternative rock band Toad The Wet Sprocket was formed in 1986 in Santa Barbara, California. The four-member band consisted of Glen Phillips, Todd Nichols, Dean Dinning and Randy Guss until 2017. In 2017, Randy was replaced by Josh Daubin, the supporting drummer. Their first album, ‘Bread and Circus’ was released in 1990. The album was self-financed but was reissued after Columbia Records signed them. While the singles were well-received on the radio, the album was unsuccessful commercially. Their third album, ‘Fear’ was released in 1991. Singles like ‘Walk on the Ocean,’ and ‘All I Want’ from the album featured in the top 20 in the Billboard Hot 100 list. This was also the first RIAA-certified platinum album of the band. Their track, ‘Brother’ featured in the soundtrack of the Mike Myers film, ‘So I Married an Axe Murderer.’ The single, ‘Fall Down’ in their follow-up album, reached the No.1 spot on the US Modern Rock Charts. The band split in 1998, reunited in 2010 and released the full-length album, ‘Starting Now’ in 2021 with Columbia Records.
