Nakhane Lubabalo Mavuso Mahlakahlaka, better known as Nakhane, is an award-winning South African singer, songwriter, actor, and author. Nakhane was born in Alice, Eastern Cape, South Africa, on February 3, 1988. Nakhane began their music career in 2013 with the release of their debut studio project Brave Confusion. Their discography includes the singles Christopher, The Plague, Fog, The New Messiah, and the studio projects The Laughing Son and Brave Confusion. As an actor, Nakhane has acted in the films Two Eyes and Ear for Eye, but Nakhane is best known for starring in the South African drama film Inxeba alongside Bongile Mantsai, Thobani Mseleni, Zwelakhe Mtsaka, and Niza Jay. Nakhane has won multiple awards including a Durban International Film Festival Award for Best Actor, a Palm Springs International Film Festival Award for Best Actor, and a South African Film and Television Award for Best Actor.
