The Coral is an English band of Indie rock, psychedelic folk, neo-psychedelia, and pop, formed in 1669 in Hoylake, Merseyside, England, on the Wirral peninsula near Liverpool. The band consists of James Skelly, Lee Southall, Paul Duffy, Nick Power and Ian Skelly. The group released their debut EPs “Shadows Fall” in 2001, followed by “The Oldest Path”, and “Skeleton Key”. Their self-titled debut album “The Coral” came out in 2002, and it peaked at number 5 on the UK Albums Chart and it also was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize the day after its release. Their hit single “Goodbye” reached number 21 in the UK Top 40 Chart and the single “Dreaming of You” reached number 13. Their second album “Magic and Medicine” was released in 2003, reaching number 1 on the UK Albums Chart. In 2018 they released their ninth album “Move Through The Dawn”.
