Nicola Adams is a British former professional boxer and actress who was born on October 26th, 1982 in Leeds, Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom. Nicola started boxing when she was 13 and rose to become the amateur champion in 2003, keeping the title through three championships.
Nicola rose to fame when she became Britain’s most decorated female boxer and also won her first-ever Olympic Women’s Boxing Gold Medal at the 2012 London Games. She won gold medals at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, the 2016 World Championships in the flyweight category, and the 2015 European Games in Baku.
Nicola was also awarded the MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2013 Queen's New Years Honours List for her services to Boxing. She was awarded the Officer of the Order of the British Empire in the 2017 Queen's New Years Honours List for her services to Boxing in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England.
