Chippendales is an American dance troupe best known for its male striptease performances, founded by Somen Banerjee in 1979. The name came from Banerjee`s nightclub in West Los Angeles and was the first all-male stripping troupe. They are known for their bare torso performance with only bow tie, collar, and shirt cuffs. Today, the touring troupe flagship location hosts millions of women each year at their very own theater inside the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Former dancers include Michael Rapp, John Bernard Richardson, Dean Mammales, Scott Marlowe, and Jonathan Hagan. In 2021, the four-part Discovery+ docuseries Curse of the Chippendales written and directed by Jesse Vile premiered. The series created by producers Simon Chinn and Jonathan Chinn unpacks the true story of the all-male dance troupe.
