Salif Keita was born on August the 25th 1949 in Djoliba, Mali and is an afro-pop singer and songwriter. With a reputation as the Golden Voice of Africa, he is known for suffering from albinism and being a member of Mali’s Keita Royal Family. Starting a music career in the 1970’s he was a part of the group Les Ambassadeurs Internationaux and the group found international fame before Keita moved away to pursue a solo artist.
Since 1982 the artist has released a steady stream of quality music, utilising instruments such as synthesisers, balafons, djembes and more. With twenty-one albums released thus far and hundreds of singles thus far, his latest album Talé was a considerable success and the artist saw continued success.
