Carlos Mencia came from a huge family, he was the 17th child out of 18. He was born in San Pedro Sula, Honduras on October 22, 1967 but came to the United States at 3 years old. His parents sent him to the U.S to live with his aunt and uncle in Los Angeles so that he could avoid getting involved with gangs. He started his career as a stand-up comedian at the Laugh Factory. His career began to blossom until he appeared in front of 1.5 million people at Comedy Central in 2005. It wasn’t long before he was starring in movie roles alongside actors such as Ben Stiller and Forest Whitaker. Even though he was in multiple movies, most recently he has decided to go back to his roots and do stand-up before more intimate audiences.
