Singer-songwriter Elijah Blake was born Sean Fenton in 1992 in the Dominican Republic. At sixteen, Blake was signed to Atlantic Records and worked with Trey Songz on his album, “Ready,” in 2009. He started out as a songwriter and wrote songs for Rick Ross, Rihanna, Ciara, and Keyshia Cole. He also co-wrote Usher’s single, “Climax,” which was released in February 2012 (credited as Redd Stylez) and became a global hit. It peaked at number four on the Billboard Adult R&B Songs chart, number three on the Billboard Hot Dance Songs chart, and number one on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. It also charted in the UK, Australia, Canada, Denmark, Ireland, South Korea, Austria, Scotland, Belgium, Ukraine, Lebanon and the Netherlands.
His debut mixtape, “Bijoux 22,” was released in December 2012. His single, “X.O.X,” featured rapper Common. He released an EP entitled “Drift” in 2014 In March 2015, his debut album, “Shadows & Diamonds,” was released. It peaked at number 22 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart, number 21 on the Billboard Top R&B Albums chart, and number fifty on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Blake was also number two on Billboard’s Next Big Sound list.
