Formed in 1995, the band GusGus originates from Reykjavik, Iceland, and as of 2014 is comprised of Stephan Stephensen, Birgir Þórarinsson, Daníel Ágúst Haraldsson, Urður Hákonardóttir, and Högni Egilsson. Since they came together in the mid-1990s, they have experienced a few changes when it comes to the lineup, but they have nevertheless been known consistently for their electronic music. GusGus released their debut album the year of their inception, entitled Gus Gus. They followed it with their albums Polydistortion in 1997 and later, This is Normal in 1999. Both charted quite well in the UK, with the third album going to the #94. In addition to their original electronic tracks, the group has been known to remix the work of other artists, such as Depeche Mode, Björk, and Sigur Rós. After many of the founding members left in 1999, they released Gus Gus vs. T-World in 2000, Attention in 2002, Forever in 2007, 24/7 in 2009, Arabian Horse in 2011, and Mexico in 2014.
