Vertical Horizon is an American alternative rock band that formed in 1991 in Washington, D.C. The group consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Matt Scannell, drummer Neil Peart, bassist Ron LaVella, and lead guitarist and keyboardist Donovan White.
The band's debut album, There and Back Again, was released in 1992, and it received critical acclaim for its unique blend of acoustic and electric guitar. However, it was not until their fourth studio album, Everything You Want, that they achieved mainstream success. The title track from the album became a top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and helped the album to achieve double platinum status.
Vertical Horizon has since released six studio albums, with their most recent being The Lost Mile in 2018. Their music has been described as a fusion of alternative rock, pop, and post-grunge, with thoughtful lyrics and catchy melodies. They have toured extensively throughout their career, performing at festivals and concerts across the United States and around the world.
