T’Pau Bio

T'Pau is a British rock band that was formed in 1986 in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. The band’s original members were singer Carol Decker, guitarist Ronnie Rogers, keyboardist Michael Chetwood, bassist Paul Jackson and drummer Tim Burgess. The band released its first single titled “Heart and Soul” in 1987. Later that year the first album called Bridge of Spies was published, and it managed to become N°1 in England charts and earned 4 times platinum certification.

After the success of the album, they toured around the world with Bryan Adams and Nik Kershaw before releasing their second album Rage in 1988. The album reached number 4 on UK charts, and it was followed by The Promise in 1991, which made it to the top 10. Among the band’s most famous singles we can find “China in Your hand” and “Valentine”. The band was disbanded in 1992 but lead singer Carol Decker continued performing under the band's name. In 2013 guitarist Ronnie Rogers joined her and together they released the album Pleasure & Pain in 2015.
