Fletcher Cox is an American professional football player born in Yazoo City, Mississippi on December 13, 1990. He is currently a defensive tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League. He played football in high school at Yazoo City High School in Yazoo City, Mississippi. He went on to play college football at Mississippi University. In 2012 he was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the first round, 12th overall, in the 2012 NFL Draft. In 2015 the Eagles chose to pick up Coxs’ fifth year option on his contract for the 2016 season. In 2016 he was signed to a six-year extension contract for $103 million with $63 million guaranteed. Cox became a Super Bowl champion in 2017 when the Eagles defeated the New England Patriots 41-33 in Super Bowl LII. Throughout his NFL career he has recorded 327 tackles, 44.5 sacks, 8 forced fumbles, 10 fumble recoveries, 12 pass deflections, and 2 defensive touchdowns.
