Darkside Bio

Darkside, also stylized as DARKSIDE, is an electronic music project led by Nicolas Jaar and Dave Harrington. The duo started playing together in New York City, around the year 2011. They met while studying at Brown University and Harrington soon joined Jaars’ band in a tour promoting their album “Space is Only Noise” around Europe. While touring, Jaar and Harrington realized they worked well together and so as soon as they went back to Brooklyn, they started composing and performing at local venues. Their debut self-titled EP with jazz and blues influences was released in 2011, under the label Clown & Sunset. It was fairly well received by the public. Their second EP “Random Access Memories Memories” was released two years later and it is a remix of Daft Punk’s “Random Access Memories”. In the same year, the duo released their first studio album “Psychic” featuring songs such as “Golden Arrow”. The album peaked at number 6 in the US Dance Charts and at number 5 at US Heat Charts. In 2014, the duo splitted after a last show in September at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple.
