Garth Brooks Bio

Garth Brooks, born Troyal Garth Brooks in Tulsa, OK, is an American country singer-songwriter. He has released a total of 20 albums since 1989; his self-titled debut hit number 2 on the US Country charts, and reached number 13 on the Billboard 200 chart. In total, Brooks has six albums certified Diamond; he is one of the most commercially successful musicians of all time with over 190 million records sold. The RIAA ranks him as second only to Elvis Presley in terms of solo artists. He has won 2 Grammy Awards and 17 AMA Awards, and has been nominated for countless other awards. Brooks has released 77 singles over his career, 19 of which have hit number 1 on the US Country charts. Some of his most famous songs are “The Dance”, “If Tomorrow Never Comes”, “Ain’t Goin’ Down (Until the Sun Comes Up)”, “Much Too Young (To Feel This Damn Old)”, and “The River”. Brooks is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, inducted in October 2012.
