Ruby Fields is an Australian singer, songwriter, and guitarist born in Cronulla, South Wales, Australia on April 26, 1998. She is best known for her popular singles “Dinosaurs”, “P Plates”, “Ritalin”, and “I Want.” At 11 years old, she started writing songs and at 13 she was busking around her hometown. She learned how to build guitars and repair instruments from her friend’s father. In 2016 she started performing live with the band members Adam Newling, Tas Wilson, and Patrick Rogers. She released her debut single in 2017 titled “I Want.” Her debut song and second song “P Plates” was in the top 200 on the Triple J Hottest 100, 2017. In 2018 she released her debut EP titled Your Dad’s Opinion for Dinner and followed it up in 2019 with her second EP Permanent Hermit. Both EPs charted at number 26 in Australia.
