Gorka Marquez Bio
Gorka Marquez is a Spanish professional dancer who was born on September 4, 1990, in Bilbao, Basque Country. He began his professional dancing career in 2010 when he represented Spain at the World Latin Championships. In 2012 he made it to the semi-finals of the World DanceSport Federation and two years later he joined the live dance company Burn the Floor as a lead dancer, performing all around the world. He started to gain international fame when he was announced as the professional dance partner of Tameka Empson on the 14th season of the BBC dancing show “Strictly Come Dancing”. After being eliminated in the third week, Gorka returned to the show for its 15th season as Alexandra Burke partner, where they became runners-up. In 2018, during the show's 16th season, Gorka was partnered with Katie Piper, being eliminated after week four. The following year he was partnered with actress Maisie Smith and reached the finals once more, losing against Bill Bailey and Oti Mabuse.
