Jamie Lidell Bio

Jamie Alexander Lidderdale (September 18, 1973), better known as Jamie Lidell, is a British singer and producer from Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, England. As an artist, Lidell is popular for his layered beatboxing tracks, where he uses his voice to mimic percussion instruments. In 1999, Lidell started with humble beginnings, doing a collaboration with techno producer Cristian Vogel, also known as Super_Collider. In 2000, Lidell was signed with Warp Records, releasing his first album, ‘Darn (Cold Way O’ Lovin) in 2000. It was only in 2005 where he came back with a small EP titled ‘When I Come Back Around’. In the same year, Lidell released his biggest hit, ‘Multiply’ in 2006, the lead song off his neo-soul album, Multiply. The single was featured on the TV show Grey’s Anatomy along with his song, ‘A Little Bit More’ in multiple commercials for Target. In 2008, he followed his single with his first album, Jim, with popular singles like ‘Another Day’ and ‘Little Bit of Feel Good’. The album later went to win 8th Annual Independent Music Awards for Best Pop/Rock Album in 2009. Lidell then went to record his 2010 album, ‘Compass’, collaborating with Beck, Grizzly Bear and Feist to help produce his album. The lead song off the album, also titled ‘Compass’, was featured in the popular video game, Red Dead Redemption. The young artist moved to Nashville after his album release to record a follow-up album ‘Jamie Lidell’ which was released in 2013. His most recent album, ‘Building a Beginning’ was released in 2016 under his own label, Jajulin. Lidell’s top single, ‘Multiply’, has 14.4 million plays on Spotify.
