Sol Campbell Bio
Sulzeer Jeremiah Campbell, popular as Sol Campbell, is a retired footballer and club manager born on September 18, 1974, in Plaistow, London, England. He spent his youth career in West Ham United (1988-1989) and Tottenham Hotspur (1989-1992). He made his senior debut for Tottenham Hotspur in 1992, spending nine years at the club and scoring ten goals in 255 appearances.
Sol captained Tottenham to victory in the 1999 Football League Cup Final against Leicester City. He joined Arsenal on a free transfer in 2001, spending five years at the club and winning two Premier League titles and three FA Cup trophies. Sol retired in 2011 after a season with Newcastle United.
The center-back scored two goals in 11 appearances for the England U21 team between 1994 and 1996. He began playing for the England team in 1996 until 2007. Sol was part of the PFA Team of the Year (1998/99, 2002/03, and 2003/04), the FIFA World Cup All-Star Team (1998 and 2002), and the UEFA European Championship Team of the Tournament (2004). He has managed Macclesfield Town and Southend United.
