Choker, also known as Chris, is a 23-year old Michigan based singer/producer who is emerging into the R&B scene. Choker keeps his identity secretive, as he states in an interview with Complex, “The extra shenanigans can be distracting in all honesty”. All of Choker’s works are self-made, ranging between a variety of sounds of soul, hip-hop, psych-rock and spoken-word style lyrics. His first album, ‘Peak’, was released in 2017 displaying Choker’s original sound with celestial synths and heavenly atmospheric vocals and lyricism that Complex stated is an “incredible debut album”. He then released his second album, ‘Honeybloom’, in 2018 where he collaborated with well-known producer Michael Uzowuru who has produced tracks for artists such as Kevin Abstract and Frank Ocean, whom Choker is often compared to. He released ‘Honeybloom’ under his personal label, Jet Fuzz and is published by Universal Music Publishing Group. With over 1 million listeners on Spotify, the young artist released his latest project ‘Filling Spaces’ consisting of a trilogy of EPs, the first being ‘Mono No Moto’, followed by ‘Dog Candy’ and finishing off with ‘Forever & A Few’. Choker has been interviewed by notable music industry platforms such as Billboard, Complex: Pigeons and Planes, Tidal and BandCamp.
