Growing up in Oakland, Offset Jim had a rough childhood. It was when he was shot by an assailant when driving back from high school that he had an epiphany. After recovery, he went back to his friend D’Andre Sams, better known by his stage name ALLBLACK, to record his first single. It became a hit locally and these sessions with ALLBLACK led to the eight-track album, No Pressure. In 2020, his track, ‘Tap In’ was used in a post by the manager of famous artist, Drake. He invited Jim to Los Angeles for a photoshoot to promote the 2020 line of October’s Very Own. He then made a joint album with ALLBLACK titled 22nd Ways which became a phenomenal hit, earning him collaborations with artists like Kenny Beats, EST Gee and Babyface Ray. His tracks reflect his upbringing in the Bay Area, resonating with listeners world over.
