Higher Brothers is a hip-hop group from Chengdu, China. The members of the group include MaSiWei (MǎSīwéi, born in 1993), Psy. P (Yáng Jùnyì, born 1994), Melo (Xiè Yǔjié, born 1994) and DZKnow (Dīng Zhèn, born 1996). In 2016 the group released the mixtape “Higher Brothers Mixtape.” The group is signed with 88rising, a label who focuses exclusively on Asian-American or Asian talent. In 2017 they released their debut album “Black Cat.” Known for their ability to avoid censorship from the Chinese government, the band is pro-Chinese culture and makes this known with such song titles as “Black Cab,” “Made in China,” and “We Chat.” The group has since released one EP “Journey to the West” in 2018 and a second full-length album, “Five Stars,” in 2019.
