Marlon Roudette Bio

Electric soul artist Marlon Roudette was born Marlon McVey-Roudette on January 5, 1983 in London. His father is British producer Cameron McVey, and his mother is Dominican/Trinidadian artist and designer, Vonnie Roudette. His stepmother is Swedish singer-songwriter Neneh Cherry. He began his music career while living on St. Vincent with his mother and sister. At age 17, Roudette moved back to London to continue his career.

He formed half of the duo Mattafix, which had success with their single, “Big City Life,” in 2005. It reached number one in Austria, New Zealand, Switzerland, Germany, and Italy. Roudette released his first solo single, “Brotherhood of the Broken,” as a free download in July 2011. He followed up with a single entitled “New Age” in August 2011 from his first album, “Matter Fixed.” “New Age” peaked at number one on the Austrian Music charts, the GfK Entertainment Top 100 chart in Germany, and the Swiss Hitparade Top 75 chart. “Matter Fixed” was released in September 2011 and reached number five on the GfK Entertainment Top 100 chart. In January 2012, he released a follow up single, “Anti Hero (Brave New World).” It reached number five on the Austrian Music charts and number six on the GfK Entertainment Top 100 chart. The lead single from his second studio album, “Electric Soul,” entitled “When the Beat Drops Out” was released in July 2014. “When the Beat Drops Out” reached number one on the GfK Entertainment Top 100 chart, and number two on the Swiss Hitparade Top 75 and the Austrian Music charts. “Electric Soul” was released in August 2014 and reached number four on the Swiss Hitparade Top 75 chart. He signed to Simon Cowell’s label, SyCo Records, in late 2014.
