The Vaccines are an indie-rock band formed in London in 2010 by vocalist and guitar player Justin Young, bassist Árni Hjörvar, guitarist Freddie Cowan, and drummer Pete Robertson. The quartet recorded a radio session for Marc Riley at BBC 6 in December 2010 and a year later released their debut single “Post Break-Up Sex”. 2011 also prompted a nomination for MTV’s Best New Band, and the coming out of their debut LP “What Did You Expect from the Vaccines?”, a Top Five album in the U.K. After a second full-length album by the name “Come of Age” in 2012, The Flaming Lips producer Dave Fridmann worked with the band for their third effort “English Graffiti” (2015). A fourth studio album under the name “Combat Sports” was promoted by 2018’s single “I Can’t Quit”.
