Vivian Jepkemoi Cheruiyot is a Kenyan long-distance runner that specializes in track and cross country running who was born on September 11, 1983, in Keiyo, Rift Valley. In 1999, she won the junior silver medal at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships and won a bronze medal in the 3000 meters at the 1999 World Youth Championship in Athletics. The following year, she won the gold at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships and qualified for the Olympic Games. In 2007, she won a silver medal at the 5000 meters final of the World Championships, which was held in Osaka, but in 2009, she won the gold in the same race. In 2011, she got two gold medals at the World Championship and another two medals at the World Cross Country Championships. In 2016, she participated in the Olympic Games that were held in Rio de Janeiro, and she earned a gold and a silver medal.
