Gyakie Bio

Jacqueline Acheampong, widely known as Gyakie, is a singer born in Kumasi, Ghana, on December 16, 1998. Her genres of music include afro-fusion, highlife, and alternative RnB. Her music is influenced by Asa, Efya, Burna Boy, and Rihanna. She studied International Business at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.


Gyakie released her debut single, Love is Pretty, in February 2019, and Never Like This followed it. She released her debut EP, Seed, in August 2020, featuring the song Forever. Forever received airplay in Ghana, Kenya, and Nigeria. It topped Billboard's Top Triller Global and Shazam's Top 200 charts. In March 2021, she released a remix of the song featuring Omah Lay.


Gyakie won the Emerging Woman of the Year at the 2021 3Music Awards and Woman of the Year at the 2022 edition. She won the Best West African Artiste at the 15th Headies Awards. Gyakie is associated with Sony Music Entertainment, RCA Records UK, and Sony Music Africa. She released her second EP, MY DIARY, in July 2022.
