Tai Tzu-Ying Bio

Tai Tzu-Ying is a Taiwanese professional badminton player renowned for her exceptional skills and dominance in women's singles events. With her right-hand playing style, she has consistently captivated audiences worldwide with her remarkable talent and strategic gameplay. She was born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, on June 20, 1994.

Tai's badminton journey began in 2007 when she started competing in international Junior tournaments. Just two years later, she made her mark on the professional circuit, announcing her arrival as a force to be reckoned with. At the age of 22, Tai achieved a monumental feat by attaining the coveted world No. 1 ranking in women's singles in December 2016. She holds the distinction of being the longest-reigning women's singles player in the history of the Badminton World Federation (BWF), maintaining her top position for an incredible 214 weeks.

Throughout her illustrious career, Tai has amassed numerous accolades, including gold medals at the 2018 Jakarta–Palembang Asian Games, 2017 Wuhan, 2018 Wuhan, and 2023 Dubai Asian Championships. Additionally, she triumphed at the 2017 Taipei Summer Universiade.
