Jorge Bonifacio (born June 4, 1993, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) is an outfielder in the MLB. In 2009, the Kansas City Royals signed Bonifacio as an international free agent. He played for the Kane County Cougars of the Class A Midwest League, and appeared in the Midwest League All-Star Game.
In 2013, Bonifacio began the season with the Wilmington Blue Rocks of the Class A-Advanced Carolina League. In the final weeks of the season, he was promoted to the Northwest Arkansas Naturals of the Class AA Texas League. After the season, Bonifacio was assigned to the Peoria Javelinas of the Arizona Fall League.
He played for the Naturals in 2014 and 2015 and spent the 2016 season with the Omaha Storm Chasers of the Class AAA Pacific Coast League where he was selected to appear in the 2016 All-Star Futures Game. On December 7, 2019, the Detroit Tigers signed Bonifacio to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. On August 19, 2020, the Tigers purchased Bonifacio's contract and inserted him into the lineup.
