Maynard James Keenan, born James Herbert Keenan, is an American singer, songwriter, music producer, and actor best known as the frontman of the alternative rock bands Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer. He was born in Ravenna, Ohio, United States, on April 17, 1964.
Maynard began his music career in 1990 when he formed the band Tool with Adam Jones, Danny Carey, and Justin Chancellor, and his discography with the group includes the hit singles Schism, The Pot, Sober, Stinkfist, Vicarious, and the albums Undertow, Fear Inoculum, and 10,000 Days.
He is also known for his time as the front of the bands A Perfect Circle and Puscifer. His discography with A Perfect Circle includes the hit singles Judith, The Outsider, and 3 Libras, and his discography with Puscifer includes the hit singles Conditions of My Parole, The Humbling River, Momma Seed, and The Remedy.
