Alex Blandino Bio
Alex Blandino is a baseball infielder born on 6th November 1992 in California, United States. He is currently a free agent. Blandino played college baseball for Stanford University. He also played summer baseball for the Yarmouth–Dennis Red Sox. He was named the East Division All-Star third baseman in both 2012 and 2013. Blandino started his professional career with the Cincinnati Reds after being selected in the first round of the 2014 MLB Draft. He spent three years in their minor league system before joining their 40-man roster in 2017.
Blandino made his major league debut with the Reds in April 2018. He made headlines in July when he struck out two of the four batters he faced against the Cleveland Indians. He missed the rest of the season due to the recurring injury. He pitched for the Reds again in 2021 but suffered an injury. In August, he was activated and sent to Triple-A Louisville. In November, he became a free agent. In December 2021, he joined San Francisco Giants but was later traded to the Seattle Mariners. He was released in August. In the 2023 World Baseball Classic, Blandino played for Nicaragua.
