Astronoid is a dynamic American metal band known for its distinctive blend of atmospheric black metal, shoegaze, and post-metal elements. Formed in 2012 in Boston, Massachusetts, the band consists of Brett Boland (vocals/guitar), Casey Aylward (guitar), Daniel Schwartz (bass), and Matt St. Jean (drums). Drawing inspiration from a wide range of musical influences, Astronoid crafts ethereal soundscapes juxtaposed with intense and emotive performances.
The band came together in the early 2010s. In 2011, they released their debut single November, and in 2013, they released their debut studio project, the EP Stargazer. Their full length album debut came in 2016, titled Air. It garnered critical acclaim for its innovative approach to metal music, characterized by soaring melodies, intricate guitar work, and pulsating rhythms. Since their inception, Astronoid has toured extensively, captivating audiences with their electrifying live shows and earning a devoted fanbase worldwide. Their sophomore album, "Astronoid," released in 2019, further solidified their reputation as pioneers in the metal scene.
