Eric Emerson Schmidt is an American businessman mostly known for being the CEO and chairman of Google inc. The famous businessman was born in Washington, D.C., United States on April 27th, 1955. Growing up in Blacksburg, Virginia, he started his tertiary education as an architecture student in 1973, but changed his major to electrical engineering. He graduated from Princeton in 1976 and continued further studies at the University of California in Berkeley in Computer Science.
Eric Schmidt worked for Xerox from 1979-1983, and as a software manager in 1983 for Sun Microsystems. After a successful career at Sun Microsystems and Sun Technology Enterprises, Eric made a career shift to become CEO and chairman of Novell, Inc in 1997. In 2001, Schmidt moved to Google as board Chairman.
Schmidt wrote a few books including The New Digital Age, Google: How Google Works, and Trillion Dollar Coach.
