Sam Bailey, born Samantha Florence Bailey on June 29th, 1977 in London, England is a British singer and songwriter. In 1998 she formed a musical duo called Girls Next Door with Julie Nunney. They released a song called “Too Late.” She then went on to work as a musical actress on cruises until 2013.
In 2013, Sam auditioned for the tenth season of The X Factor. She sang Beyonce’s “Listen.” She made it to the final and sang a duet with Nicole Scherzinger. She then sang a cover of Demi Lovato’s “Skyscraper.” She received over 1 million votes and won the competition. Sam was then signed to a recording contract with Syco Music and opened for Beyonce on her UK stops of her tour in 2014. Her cover of “Skyscraper” was released as her debut single and made it to the top of the UK Singles Chart. Later in the year she released her debut album called The Power of Love. The album became the fastest selling album in the UK of 2014.
In 2016 Sam released her second album called Sing My Heart Out. She then toured in the UK at the beginning of 2017. She then released a charity song called “Stronger Together.”
