Nolwenn Le Magueresse, widely known as Nolwenn Leroy, is a musical artist, singer, songwriter, and voice actress born on September 28, 1982, in Saint-Renan, Brittany, France. Her music is a blend of Celtic folk and pop. She plays violin, guitar, piano, keyboards, and Celtic harp. She attended college at Saint-Yorre's Collège des Célestins.
Her breakthrough came in 2002 when she competed in Star Academy, emerging as champion in viewer voting. In March 2003, Nolwenn released her self-titled debut album, with singles like Cassé and Suivre une Étoile. The album topped the French chart and reached number two in Switzerland. Her 2005 album, Histoires Naturelles, became a Top Three album in France.
In 2009, Nolwenn released her third album, Le Cheshire Cat & Moi, the first album with self-written lyrics. Her fourth album, Bretonne, was the biggest project of her career, featuring songs sung in four languages (Gaelic, French, English, and Breton). She released the EP I AM WOMAN in 2023.
