Samantha Barks Bio

Samantha Jane Barks is an actress and singer born on October 2, 1990, in Laxey, Isle of Man. She is famous for her role in the 2012 film version of Les Misérables as Éponine. The part won her the National Board of Review Award for Best Cast and Empire Award for Best Female Newcomer. She has won five awards and has been nominated for 14 others.

Samantha attended the Arts Educational Schools London in Chiswick. She released her debut album, Looking in Your Eyes, in 2007. The following year, she contested and finished third in the BBC singing competition I'd Do Anything. She has been featured in several stage plays, including Cabaret, City of Angels, and Amélie. Her self-titled sophomore album was released in June 2016.

Her Broadway debut was at the Nederlander Theater in August 2018 in Pretty Woman: The Musical. She has been nominated for Screen Actors Guild, Satellite, and Broadcast Film Critics Association Awards. Her acting credits include Tomorrow Morning, For Love or Money, Interlude in Prague, Bitter Harvest, and Robot Chicken.
