Mark Harmon Bio

Mark Harmon was born on September 2, 1951 in Burbank, California. After playing college football, Harmon starred in a commercial before landing small parts in television shows in the 1970s. Harmon received an Emmy nomination for his role in the TV movie Eleanor and Franklin: The White House Years. He made several guest appearances on television series like Laverne & Shirley and The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries.

Harmon played on St. Elsewhere before being named People’s Sexiest Man Alive. After several television shows, he landed high-profile guest spots on The West Wing and JAG. His character on JAG would later spin off to NCIS, which he has starred in since 2003. The role has earned him three nominations at the People’s Choice Awards and gained experience as a producer and executive producer.
