Polly Draper is an American actress, writer, producer, and director born on June 15, 1955, in Gary, Indiana, USA. She first became known for her acting performance in ABC’s television drama ‘series Thirtysomething (1987). After her initial rise to prominence, Draper continued her involvement on various known and awarded projects. In 1998, she had her writing debut in The Tic Code, a drama movie about a single mother who begins a relationship with a jazz musician who suffers from Tourette syndrome. Apart from writing the movie, Draper also co-starred in it, alongside Gregory Hines.

Draper's debut as a director came in 2005, with the movie The Naked Brothers Band: The Movie, that she'd also written. Her latest projects include Stella's Last Weekend (2018), a comedy that she wrote, directed, and also co-starred in. Draper has several awards and nominations for her great contribution to cinema and television - a New York Magazine Award for Best Broadway Actress (for the play Four Dogs and a Bone) in 2003, the Bronze Gryphon award for Best Actress at the Giffoni Film Festival (for The Tic Code) in 1998, one Emmy Award nomination, as well as two Writers Guild Award nominations.
