Singer-actor-dancer Cody Wise was born Cody Rahman Wise, Jr. in Roxborough, Pennsylvania in 1995. His family relocated to Philadelphia when he was two and Wise attended the Philadelphia Performing Arts Charter School. He is an accomplished theater actor with credits including performances as “Eugene” in the Tony-nominated play The Scottsboro Boys; “Young Simba” in the traveling company for The Lion King and Damn Yankees with Sean Hayes and Jane Krakowski. He also appeared as “Fritz” in the Pennsylvania Ballet’s The Nutcracker and can be seen dancing in the video for “Party Rock Anthem” by LMFAO.
When Wise was 13, he performed a rendition of the Jackson 5’s “Who’s Loving You” at the FamJam concert in Philadelphia which attracted the attention of will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas. He spent a few years developing his musical skills and in 2014 signed to Interscope Records. He released the non-album single “It’s My Birthday” featuring will.i.am and the two performed the song in the United Kingdom on May 29, 2014, appearing on the fourth semi-final of the eighth season of Britain’s Got Talent. Recently, Cody was named as a creative ambassador by The Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation Philly 360° campaign.
