RL Grime Bio
RL Grime is the stage name of Henry Alfred Steinway, an American music producer and DJ who specializes in drum & bass and trap music. He was born on the 8th of February, 1991, in Los Angeles, California, U.S. He began his musical career around 2011, when he joined the WeDidIt electronic collective, alongside producers Groundislava, Shlohmo and D33J. They released their debut EP “Grapes” during the next year, which earned them the attention of the drum & bass scene. Steinway teamed up then with producer Salva, to make a remix of Kanye West’s track “Mercy” which was a huge success. He became a very in-demand remixer, working for the likes of Benny Benassi. He released his debut solo album, “Void”, in 2014, featuring collaborations with Boys Noize and Big Sean among others. In 2018, he released his second album “Nova” which was a huge success, reaching number one on the US Billboard Dance/Electronic Charts.
