Early James, real name Fredrick James Mullis Jr., is a singer and songwriter born on 2nd June 1993 in Alabama, United States. His interest in music began when he was a little boy. His aunt gifted him his first guitar at the age of 16 as a Christmas gift. He cites Johnny Cash and James Taylor as his inspirations. At the age of 21, he relocated to Birmingham, Alabama to pursue a career in music. He released a few songs on his YouTube channel, including “Gravy Train” and “Tinfoil Hat”.
In March 2020, he released his first studio album, titled “Singing for My Supper, followed by his debut single from the album “Blue Pill Blues”. He later released the singles “High Horse” and “It Doesn’t Matter Now” from the same album. In 2020, he went on tour in support of The Marcus King Band, The Black Keys, and Shovels and Rope. The following year, he performed at the Newport Folk Festival.
