Kevin Spacey Bio
Kevin Spacey was born on July 26, 1959 in South Orange, New Jersey. He made his first appearance on stage in a minor part in Henry VI in 1981. He later worked on several plays throughout the 1980s, such as Hurlyburly, The Misanthrope and The Seagull. He won a Tony Award for his Broadway role in Lost in Yonkers. Spacey joined the cast of See No Evil, Hear No Evil (1989) and Swimming with Sharks before winning an Oscar for his role in The Usual Suspects.
He later made a surprise role in Seven. This coupled with his success from The Usual Suspects and Outbreak gained him notoriety at playing villains. He directed the film Albino Alligator in 1996 and provided voice work for A Bug’s Life in 1998. Spacey won another Oscar for his role in American Beauty. He also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame the same year.
He continued to win acclaim for his work in Pay It Forward, K-Pax and Beyond the Sea, the latter of which he directed, co-wrote, produced and starred in. He starred in 21 and moved to the Netflix series House of Cards, a role that earned him Primetime Emmy nominations and netted a Golden Globe Win.
