Arthur Darvill is an actor and musician born on June 17, 1982, in Birmingham, England. Darvill trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. After his time at RADA, he performed at various stage productions, including his debut in Terra Haute, Treasure Island, and Once. His performance in Terra Haute earned him a nomination for Outstanding Newcomer for the Evening Standard Award. For the musical Once, Darvill played the lead, Guy, in both the West End and the Broadway production. Darvill has also made many appearances on television and film, including He Kills Coppers and Little Dorrit. In 2010, Darvill was cast in one of his most well-known roles, playing Rory Williams in the long-running BBC show Dr. Who opposite the Eleventh Doctor, Matt Smith. He played the role until 2012. Darvill played the character Rev. Paul Coates in the series Broadchurch from 2013-2017. In 2016, Darvill became one of the main cast of Legends of Tomorrow, a role he played until 2018.
