Tyrann Mathieu is a professional American football player for the National Football League. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on May 13, 1992. He played college football for Louisiana State University. In his sophomore season he was recognized as a consensus All-American and he won the Chuck Bednarik Award as the best defensive player in college football. He participated in the 2013 NFL Draft, being officially chosen by the Arizona Cardinals, where he played from 2013 to 2017. In 2018, he signed as a Houston Texans player and finished the season with 89 combined tackles, three sacks, eight passes defended and two interceptions. On March 14, 2019, Mathieu signed a three-year contract with the Kansas City Chiefs and on February 2, 2020, Mathieu won the LIV Super Bowl, when the Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers.
