Kyle Long was born on December 5, 1988 in Ivy, Virginia. He was signed for the guard position for the NFL’s Chicago Bears. Long was selected by the Bears on May 15, 2013 as the 20th overall pick of the 2013 NFL Draft, which made him the first guard to be drafted by the Bears in the first round since 1960.
Long is son of Football Hall of Famer, Howie Long, and the younger brother of Philadelphia Eagles defensive end, Chris Long. During his high school years, he was active in both his school’s football and baseball teams. He was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 23rd round of the 2008 MLB Draft, but instead decided to honor his commitment to enrolling in Florida State University. He left Florida State in 2009 and enrolled at Saddleback College where he promptly returned to the football field. He started off his college football career by playing defensive end before switching to offensive line.
