Ronnie Milsap Bio
Ronnie Milsap is an American country singer, songwriter, and musician born in Robbinsville, North Carolina on January 16, 1943. He is best known for his hit songs “It Was Almost Like a Song”, “Smoky Mountain Road”, “Any Day Now”, “Stranger in My House”, and “I Wouldn’t Have Missed It for the World.” Milsap has had a love for music from a young age and would listen to late-night radio broadcasts of country music, rhythm and blues, and gospel music. In high school he formed the rock band The Apparitions with his classmates. While in college he joined the R&B band The Dimensions and played with them around in the Atlanta area. In 1963 he recorded his debut solo single titled “Total Disaster/It went to your head.” He released his debut studio album in 1971 self-titled Ronnie Milsap and has since released the albums Where My Heart Is, Pure Love, Inside, Keyed Up, One More Try for Love, Heart & Soul, True Believer and more. He has released 28 studio albums, 2 live albums, and 13 compilation albums. Mislap has had 7 gold albums, 1 platinum album, and 1 double platinum records. He has has over 40 number one hit songs on the Billboard country chart and his albums have sold over 35 million copies.
