Allan Carl Newman, better known as A.C. Newman, is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and musician who performs pop music and is the band leader of The New Pornographers. He was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, on April 14, 1968. He began his music career in the ‘90s as a member of the music bands Superconductor, Nemesis Gypsy, Zumpano, and The New Pornographers. His discography includes the hit singles Prophets, Be Not So Fearful, On the Table, Beach Bummer, and the albums The Slow Wonder, Get Guilty, and Shut Down The Streets. His music was included in the official soundtrack of the Movie How to Talk to Girls at Parties. Newman appeared in the TV series Drunk History and the film Low Self-Esteem Girl.
